Qi Gong

Updated: May 31, 2020

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese healing art that means “mastering subtle energy.” It is a mixture of exercise and meditation that aims to promote health and vitality. There are two methods of Qi Gong therapy. In the first, the practitioner utilizes TCM diagnostic procedures to assess imbalance and then employs a combination of movement, breath, and acupressure to return balance. The second method is to teach movement exercises, similar to Tai Chi, to improve circulation and promote a sense of well-being.

There are many styles and forms of Qi Gong, and with the help of a practitioner, the decision about which forms will be most beneficial is easier. All the techniques are easily performed even for the elderly or those in weakened conditions. Improvements are usually immediate and promote a general sense of overall comfort.
